How to Make Your Own Almond Milk

By Annette Demeny

I LOVE almond milk and it’s my non-dairy go-to quite often!

This recipe is unbelievably simple to make, requiring just a few ingredients and a blender!

How to Make Almond Milk

First thing is to purchase quality, organic almonds. Next, soak your almonds overnight in cool, water (spring or filtered).

Drain the water and then add the almonds to a blender along with fresh water (spring or filtered), salt, dates, and vanilla. You can also add cacao powder or berries for additional flavors. I prefer just dates and vanilla.

After blending the mixture for 2 minutes, pour the milk through a nut milk bag or cheese cloth into a mixing bowl. Finally, squeeze to extract all of the liquid.

Tada– that’s it!!!!

Store in a glass jar with lid. Your almond milk will last 4-5 days in refrigerator. Use to mix with your favorite protein powder, collagen, cereal, or as a dairy substitute in many recipes!

  • 1 cup raw organic almonds (soaked overnight in cool spring or filter water)
  • 5 cups filtered water
  • 1 pinch sea salt
  • 2 – 3 whole Medjool dates (pitted)
  • 1 – 2 tsp vanilla extract (I add even more because I love vanilla)
